Turning over a Brand You leaf

Corny.

But how many of you have decided that your future lies in the notion of reinvention?

As Benjamin Barber, the eminent sociologist said:

“I don’t divide the world into the weak and the strong, or the successes and the failures …. I divide the world into the learners and non-learners.”

A reinvention of you is what?

A new practice area?

Poking at the edges of your comfort zone?

Or blowing the whole damn thing up?

Like hell!

This recession sucks.

Everything seems so hard.

But the future is a whole new you.

You need to go to work on your career in 2012. Not in it. Another year of doing it, doing it, doing it will leave you empty and unfulfilled.

Start to develop a Brand You from the perspective of your passion. Not what makes others happy.

At this stage, change will not come about incrementally.

It will only come about from a whole new vision for how you want to live your life.

Just imagine that the other side of the leaf is filled with endless possibility?

Of course, there is risk in abundance.

My life changed forever in March 2010. I won’t be looking back in 2012. Only onwards and upwards.

Make a start now.

Start writing down all those thoughts that keep coming into your mind, and between now and 1 January 2012 make a pact with yourself that you won’t give into the temptation to be the person that you know you’re not.
