Blogging update

A blog isn’t a blog unless it’s regularly updated.

Once a month is a bare minimum.

In the past, I’ve written here and elsewhere on a daily basis. At one time, I had as many as three blogs on the go. Stupid if you ask me. When I did finally settle on a pattern, I blogged once a week.

But of course, none of what I say (or have said) means anything unless you find this page. To help with that — I’m not big into SEO — I would, as a bare minimum, share the contents on Twitter and LinkedIn. No more. In fact, since 1 August 2017 — my 50th birthday — I’ve stopped sharing (or engaging) on social media. Save for picking up the odd DM, I no longer Tweet, post to LinkedIn or involve myself in any of the other social media platforms. I now rely solely on Gmail, SMS and WhatsApp for comms.

And trust me, that’s radical.

Anyhow, enough of the back story.

All I want to say is that for the time being, I’m not blogging here. Instead, all my written online pieces, of whatever length, will be created on Patreon. And no, it’s not because I want to attract more patrons, but instead I don’t want to spread myself too thinly. Also, I’m serious about being a writer and poet. For me, blogging is helpful but it’s not where the action is. Being published is.

Just to be clear, if you head over to Patreon and hit the + (plus) button, that’s akin to an RSS feed, providing you have a Patreon account or create one. Hopefully, that’s good for both of us.

I’m sure I’ll revisit this page before the end of 2017, but for now, I’m signing off from any more blogs.

See you over at Patreon.

Have fun.
