One day – Julian Summerhayes

“Measuring time isn’t as simple as adding or subtracting minutes from a clock…You must find your own measuring stick.” ― Lindsay Eagar, Hour of the Bees

There’s at least one school of thought that invalidates the concept of time.

But, whatever your view, everything changes, not least the ageing of those we love and their passing, and all that we survey.

Perhaps we all believe that “One day” is just around the corner. But is it? Or are we merely putting things off, hoping, somehow, by dint of a miracle, we’ll get the thing we crave or arrive at the place we seek?

In my case, I feel there’s only so many days left with which to find or lose my way. But one thing I know for sure, this day is this day, and the more time I spend analysing my mistakes or hoping for a better future, the more likely it is I’ll miss what’s really going on.
