Has the world gone mad? – Julian Summerhayes

Energy prices through the roof.

Ditto food, utilities and anything and everything that we previously thought affordable.

Of course, it was never meant to be this way.

Somehow we’d ensure that our labour and earnings wouldn’t be sacrificed on the altar of the nefarious corporations and the boards who are, no doubt, making great gobs of profit at our expense.

At some stage, something’s got to give.

A national strike.

Mass suicides or at least unprecedented rates of depression.

Poverty (at least in the UK) the likes of which we’ve never seen before.

And to boot, we’re about to fall under the spell of a new PM who, at least in my view, will be no better than the current incumbent and could be or may well be a great deal worse.

Perhaps it’s me but I can’t help thinking:

What’s it all about?

In any event, it sure as hell doesn’t feel normal — if there was ever such a thing.

NB. I’ve decided to start blogging again. You can still receive my newsletter via Substack but here I’m likely to go a little off-piste or perhaps talk about some of the other issues that continue to haunt me — even after 54 years of being alive.
