Solitude – Julian Summerhayes

I’ve always enjoyed my own company.

Better still, to come alive in solitude.

But, I’m in the minority.

Too many people I know can’t bear the isolation.

Noise, chaos and ‘doing’ is their raison d’être.

Fine as it goes, but (of course) the busyness masks what’s really going on.

I can’t command you to do anything but instead of looking for the next experience to fill up your life, perhaps now is the time to find a quiet space to come alive to what’s happening in the moment.

I understand that it’s hard to put yourself in a mind-compromising position but, trust me, the stakes are simply too high to carry on with your million-miles-an-hour life which, in the end, leaves your bereft of anything other than a bone-weary feeling of lack.
