All quiet – Julian Summerhayes

It’s been an intense period with work.

Thankfully, things are slowing down, making me focus (again) on what’s important in my writing and extracurricular work.

I’m making no promises — I already post a daily blog on Livejournal — but I’m instinctually drawn to writing on this, my main site, particularly with regards what lies beneath the constant chatter of our minds and what fills up our day.

If that sounds a bit out there or even pretentious, then I’m sorry, but all I can say is that, having spent a good part of my life seeking, it was only in March 2010 (was it really that long ago?), by dint of a short period in hospital, that I came to appreciate that my true self wasn’t a manifestation of my ego, but something ineffable, something beyond the ken of my lived experience. Of course, that doesn’t mean I’ve a licence to spew my content across the nether regions of the Internet but I do feel — always have — a deep connection with the words that have found a home in my heart — i.e. peace, contemplation, silence, and love.

And if any those touch you, perhaps it might be worth tuning in here once in a while.
