“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
Oliver Wendell Holmes
Cultivating a practice of saying “yes” sounds simple.
- living each day fully
- living mindfully
- kindness
- patience
- peace
- love
However, too many times we thwart our good intentions by finding any reason not to do the one thing that we know we should be doing. And, as time goes on, we settle into a ritualised norm that feels safe, and rarely, if ever, step outside our comfort zone.
But if we are to leave a legacy beyond the accretion of stuff, then we need to take each day and say “yes” more often, particularly to those areas of our life that we have previously ignored: health, relationships and money.
Start now. Do something that you have been putting off for a while. Even the smallest of things – a sincere thank you – can change your posture and the world around you.
